The Technology Behind Exploring Maui.com’s “The Art of Whale Photography” Instructional DVD Series
WhaleWatcher.net is a new website geared to the growing trend in whale watching and people interested in photographing these magnificent creatures. Founder, Jim Tierney, is an avid adventure photographer who in recent years discovered the beauty of Maui in winter and has been capturing the elegant power of the plentiful humpback whales in the island’s surrounding waters.

The “Art of Whale Photography” addresses the needs of tech savvy eco-tourists who bring sophisticated semi-professional or professional DSLR cameras on their trips and are determined to capture high quality images. The 2 DVD set provides both aspiring and experienced photographers with tips and tricks on taking action photos of humpback whales, together with ways to get the most out of their DSLR cameras. The DVD features both Tierney’s photography and that of Michael Sweet, an award-winning sea-life photographer considered Maui’s most experienced whale photographer. Melissa Meeker, a marine naturalist and whale expert, also helps viewers to better understand the world of the humpback whales.
